Tauroursodeoxycholic acid Product Name: Tauroursodeoxycholic acid Synonyms: 3α,7β-Dihydroxy-5β-cholanoyltaurine, Ursodeoxycholyltaurine, Taurursodiol, ursodoxicoltaurine Molecular Formula: C26H45NO6S Molecular Weight: 499.70 CAS NO.: [14605-22-2] Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) is mainly used to treat cholesterol gallstones, primary sclerosing cholangitis, primary biliary cirrhosis and chronic viral hepatitis C and the relevant hepatobiliary diseases. Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) is a conjugated bile acid formed by shrinking between carboxyl group of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and amino group of taurine. It can reduce the secretion of cholesterol by the liver, reduce the saturation of cholesterol in bile and promote the secretion of bile acids. Thereby increasing the solubility of cholesterol in bile, dissolving cholesterol stones or preventing the formation of stones.
